Why Is Big Brother Still Watching Christians

Why Is Big Brother Still Watching Christians?

Too many Christians in America refuse to accept the idea that the U. S. government would be responsible for the wholesale persecution of Christians, much like Adolf Hitler orchestrated against the Jews during World War II. However, Christians need to wake up and to become aware of those in the U.S. government who would support such an evil. When one considers that more and more elected leaders are non-Christian, those who are Christian should realize that the future for them, prior to Jesus Christ’s return, could very well be much similar to the Jewish Holocaust.

President Barack Obama has said repeatedly that America is not specifically a Christian nation. According to President Obama, America is a nation of Christians and non-Christians of every possible religious belief, even atheists. As a result, this should be a warning sign for every Christian. When the President of the United States recognizes non-Christian religions, it should make every Christian shake in his or her shoes, especially since the United States government (Big Brother) is still watching the activities of Christians. But, why is America’s government worried about peace-loving followers of Jesus Christ. Aren’t there enough terrorists to keep them busy? Apparently, they are busy fighting terrorists, since Christians are viewed as terrorists by many governmental officials and agencies.

However, the subtle classifying of Christians as "potential terrorists" began during President Bill Clinton’s administration in the early 1990s and it still is being followed today. According to Pam Shuffert in her article entitled "The Coming Persecution of the Church in America," the government’s definition of a "potential terrorist" is much different the average person would assume. The average person would describe terrorists as radical Islamic fundamentalists who are presently attempting to kill as many Americans as possible or radical anti-government groups that reside in the United States. However, for some insane reason, the United States government has classified "potential terrorists" as "right wing political groups, fundamentalist Christians, religious organizations and individuals." In fact, according to Shuffert, a confidential memo from former Attorney General Janet Reno was secretly removed from the Justice Department during President Clinton’s administration. The essence of the memo was that an investigation and surveillance would take place against "right wing political groups and fundamentalist Christians." Also, in the event of a wide spread uprising (as in martial law or a national disaster), these individuals must be viewed as "potential terrorists." (1)

Of course, after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, former President Bush was instrumental in getting Patriot Acts I and II passed in Congress. Basically, these two acts of Congress took away many rights of privacy for all Americans, Christian and non-Christian. As a result, anyone who the FBI deems to be a terrorist can be arrested and incarcerated without due process of law, including peace-loving Christians. Also, more and more surveillance equipment is being used to basically spy on the American people. In fact, as has been stated in recent years by various writers, it sounds like a scenario from George Orwell’s 1984. But, if the Patriot Acts were created to make all Americans feel safe, why do many Americans feel fearful of their own government, especially some Christians who sense that the government will use these acts to silence their freedom of religion and speech? Also, could the establishment of a New World Order possibly be the main reason for silencing Christians who would object to it?

Now, regardless of the Bush administration’s purpose for the Patriot Acts and its possible threat to Christians, the Obama Administration has given a succinct definition of "potential terrorist" in a recent report entitled "Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment." Fortunately, someone who works in the Department of Homeland Security realized that all Americans needed to know the intentions of this government agency. Based on the secret report, "Right-wing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly anti-government, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration." Of course, logically speaking, most Christians oppose abortion and ( illegal) immigration. Also, Christians in general would not be hate-oriented people, simply because the tenets of Christianity denounce hatred of any religious, racial, or ethnic group.

However, the current government administration is apparently getting American Christians confused with religious radicals who are killing Americans and members of their own religion regularly in Afghanistan, Iraq, and other places around the world. Also, based on the labeling of Islam as a religion of peace that has had a positive effect on the United States and the world, it is obvious that President Obama has a unique but confusing Christian opinion of Islam, since Christians in general would not agree with his opinion. In fact, even non-Christians would not agree with President Obama on this issue. Therefore, it is understandable that American Christians are being monitored as "potential terrorists" and the religion of the terrorists is being praised. Needless to say, maybe President Obama needs to compare the number of terror-related deaths in the world the past twenty years at the hands of radical Islamic Fundamentalists and at the hands of radical Christian Fundamentalists. Of course, as everyone in the United States and in the other non-Muslim nations already know, the scales of truth and justice would definitely tilt toward radical Islamic Fundamentalists. But, why is President Obama and the Department of Homeland Security so afraid of those who actually abide by the laws of the land and the U.S. Constitution? Possibly, the main fear factor for President Obama and the Department of Homeland Security is that Christians do support and abide by the United States Constitution, including all the Bill of Rights.

In the end, regardless of the Obama administration’s motive for targeting Christians as "potential terrorists," along with any other group that does not support President Obama’s agenda, American Christians need to keep their minds and hearts fixed on their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Most likely, unless Jesus Christ raptures His Church soon, Christians of every faith and ethnicity in America will encounter more persecution than they ever would expect from their own government in the next few years. Anyone, Christian or non-Christian, who reads the Bible should know that at some point in the future a "New World Order" will be established in preparation for the Anti-Christ to come on the scene. Of course, even now, such an agenda is being demanded by political leaders all over the world to solve the so-called global warming problem and the current economic problems. But, as long as Christians stand in way, it would be more difficult for them to achieve their wicked, godless goals. Hence, the need to find a way to rid America of the evil, violent, and anti-government religion of Christianity and possibly replace it with a more peaceful religion with its peaceful followers. Unfortunately, the Obama administration might have just found the way, especially since he has the knowledge obtained by his two predecessors, too.

In closing, there is one final question that needs to be asked about this attack against the character of Christians in America and their classification as "potential terrorists." Why would three professed Christian Presidents of the United States classify people of their same faith as people that might take part in domestic terrorist activities. It is just irrational to assume that such a situation could occur. Also, it is as hypocritical as can be to treat people of your same faith in such a manner as this Department of Homeland Security report infers. Ultimately, wouldn’t the definition of " radical extremism" infer that Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack H. Obama should be monitored and placed under surveillance, too?  Therefore, America's political leaders should drop peace-loving Christians from their "potential terrorists" list.  Then, they would have more time to fight the real terrorists that aim to destroy the United States.
